Launched in 2009 the «new» State Standard GOST R 27.002-2009 «Reliability in technique. Terms and definitions» is necessary and timely document that is gripping, illuminating and legalized a wide range of issues of reliability, related equipment, including aviation. In it most fully, with some changes and additions, and given the basic terms, definitions and provisions of the reliability, widened and deepened the range of issues considered compared to the «old» standard (GOST 27.002-89). However, like everything new, it needs «running in», check, revision, correction and clarification. The article reviewed and analyzed the terms and definitions of the state standard GOST R 27.002-2009 from the point of view of possibilities of its application in the operation of aircraft. Presents suggestions for adjusting and refining.
